What an unforgettable evening at Pianos on Main: The Concert in the heart of Mill Creek! 🎹

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating the joy of music and community. We were honored to feature an incredible lineup of talent. Scarlett Scott, one of eight winners of the 2025 Poet’s Perspective program presented by Jackson High School, Spark! Creativity, and the City of Mill Creek Art & Beautification Board, shared a moving poem about her memories of playing the Main Street pianos with her brother. Shai Permilovsky, a jazz pianist, composer, and instructor at Seattle Jazz Academy, brought his creativity and passion to the evening with his original compositions. And Josh Rawlings, Grammy-nominated pianist, songwriter, and featured performer on Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “The Heist,” delivered an energetic and memorable performance of his most popular songs and all-time fan favorites! 🎶

Be sure to visit each of the four pianos located along Main Street, available for anyone to play until September 8, 2025. Pianos can be found near our community partners: The Jewelry Source, Goldfish Swim School, and Artisan Custom Framing, as well as on the Main Street Bridge.

The Mill Creek City Council met on July 1, 2025, in a hybrid meeting.

Here is a brief overview of some of the items from the meeting:

• Mayor Holtzclaw proclaimed the month of July as Parks and Recreation Month in the City of Mill Creek.
• Council held a Study Session about annexation areas of interest.
• Council held an Executive Session to discuss the status of collective bargaining negotiations.

Mill Creek City Hall and Passport Services will be closed in observance of Independence Day on Friday, July 4th.

Passport Services will resume normal business hours on Saturday, July 5th, at 8:00 a.m.

The City of Mill Creek and Mill Creek Police Department would like to wish everyone a happy holiday! 

Remember that recreational use of fireworks can be extremely dangerous!

We would also like to remind everyone that the possession, sale, use, or discharge of “Common Fireworks” is a violation of Mill Creek Municipal Code 5.12. A violation of this section would constitute a gross misdemeanor, punishable by a $5,000 fine or imprisonment not to exceed one year (365 days), or both.

Please understand that all calls for service are prioritized based on concern for public safety and the significance of the incident.

• Council and Staff recognized Sergeant Bart Foutch’s retirement.
• Council unanimously approved an amendment to the Plantscapes Inc. landscaping contract to extend the term of the agreement.
• Council unanimously approved letters of support for designating Ash Way Center and Mariner Center as Regional Growth Centers.
• Council unanimously approved Staff submitting a Planning and Demonstration Safe-Streets-4-All grant application.

Party in the Parks & Kids Fun Run returns this week with exciting races for K-5th graders and fun swag & prizes! Don't miss the return of the Freedom Field Burger, served fresh by Mill Creek Little League this Thursday, June 26th, 2025.

Mill Creek City Hall and Passport Services will be closed in observance of Juneteenth on Thursday, June 19th.

Recreation programs in City Hall North will proceed as scheduled for the day. Passport Services will resume normal business hours on Friday, June 20th, at 8:00 a.m.
