Congratulations to Mrs. Judd's 2nd Grade class at Penny Creek Elementary School for winning the naming contest for the City of Mill Creek's new dump truck/snowplow. Out of 226 votes, 154 came in for Glacier Guardian!

📢 Public Comment Period Now Open! 📢
The City of Mill Creek has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the proposed South Town Center Subarea Plan. 
The analysis and DEIS address Land Use/ Plans & Policies, Housing/ Population/ Employment, Aesthetics, Utilities, Transportation, and Biological Resources, which were identified during the EIS scoping process.
A 45-day public comment period is provided for this DEIS from January 27, 2026, through March 13, 2026. 
Agencies, tribes, organizations, and members of the public are invited to comment on the DEIS. All comments are due no later than 4:00 PM on March 13, 2026.

A public meeting will be held on March 3, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Mill Creek City Hall (15728 Main Street, Mill Creek, WA 98012) to provide information and receive comments on the DEIS.

Today we recognize our Mill Creek Police Department officers and staff who protect and serve our community every day. Thank you for your dedication to our City and all that you do to keep our community safe. Join us in celebrating our officers today!

We’re excited to announce an important update to our permit application process! Starting soon, we will be transitioning from the MyBuildingPermit (MBP) platform to OpenGov, a user-friendly system designed to make applying for permits easier and more efficient.

OpenGov offers enhanced features that improve transparency, streamline workflows, and provide a better experience for applicants. With this upgrade, you’ll enjoy simplified navigation, faster processing times, and improved communication throughout the permitting process.

The transition will take place on January 1, 2026. If you have an active application in MBP, don’t worry—we’ll provide clear instructions to ensure a smooth transfer. Stay tuned for more updates and helpful resources to guide you through the change.

A huge thank you to our generous community for coming out to support our local veterans with donations to the annual Heroes Cafe Giving Tree at Mill Creek City Hall. We've been collecting donations since Veterans Day and just wrapped up on December 15th.

Thanks to you, we collected over $675 in gift cards, more than 270 pairs of socks, 29 pairs of gloves, 20 hats, plus hoodies, thermals, and cozy blankets! Gifts will be distributed to local veterans by the good folks at the Heroes Cafe in Lynnwood for the holidays.

Once again, thank you for helping us make this heart-warming tradition such a success!
