You may have noticed heavy equipment and the work in progress on HWY 527 just south of 164th today. The City received several calls over the past few weeks about water bubbling through the pavement. Our Public Works team worked with WSDOT, Alderwood Water & Wastewater District (AWWD), and local utilities to discover the source - an artesian well about 60' below the surface. Once identified as their project, AWWD moved quickly to schedule a crew to cap the source, which took much of the day, and all lanes will be open later this evening.
