These engineered ponds help collect and convey stormwater, especially during heavy rains. They also work to improve water quality by filtering out pollutants before the water moves downstream. By slowing and controlling the flow of runoff, they help reduce flooding, protect local streams, and support healthier ecosystems.

So the next time you pass one of these ponds, remember you’re seeing part of the city’s stormwater infrastructure at work; quietly protecting our waterways and neighborhoods!

If you see a spill in our community, call the spill hotline at 425-582-6000 to report it. This allows use to respond to the spill as quickly as possible and help protect our local water ways.

Are you planning home renovations this year? Make sure your contractor knows City Stormwater Requirements. If a contractor causes a spill from your property, YOU are the responsible party, and the cost of cleanup will be on you.
