City Celebrates Jackson High School Robotics Team World Championship

At the FIRST Robotics Competition in Houston, Texas, Henry M. Jackson High School robotics team students achieved their goal – winning the world championship!

MILL CREEK - Team 2910, AKA "Jack in the Bot," battled it out with their ingenuity, talent, and raw passion to win first place at the coveted FIRST Robotics Competition, beating out 599 teams from 30 countries. Years in the making, the students exemplified their determination through their cohesive strengths in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and came out victorious because of it.

The City has invited Team 2910 and Coach Steve Kaneb to an upcoming City Council Meeting for a demo and to showcase this advanced machinery in action. Join us at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at City Hall Council Chambers (15728 Main St., Mill Creek). "These students make our city and our region a better place for all," said City Manager Martin Yamamoto, "and we look forward to celebrating them!"
