Mobile Food Unit (MFU)
The process for obtaining authorization to operate an MFU (food truck or trailer) in Mill Creek includes the following requirements:
Required Licenses
Required Inspections
Vending Locations
Vending at Special Events in Mill Creek
Event organizers must ensure all Mobile Food Units comply with the above requirements before applying for a Special Event Permit and allowing them to participate in special events such as festivals, fairs, or concerts. Remember, permits are site-specific, which means that for any particular permit issued, the permittee may vend only from the location specified on the permit.
Special Event Permits are required for any MFU on private residential property.
The City of Mill Creek prohibits Mobile Food Units at all City Parks.
Vending at a Temporary or Fixed Location
Per Mill Creek Municipal Code, vending on private residential property is only allowed with a Special Event Permit. Check the Zoning Map on our Maps page to ensure the location is zoned as a commercial area.
Mobile Food Units operating in a temporary or fixed location may be inspected at any time by the Fire Marshals or Deputy Fire Marshals from South County Fire.
