Silver Crest Drive Reconstruction

Project History:

The Silver Crest Drive Reconstruction Project was initially identified by the City of Mill Creek as a pedestrian improvement project to address gaps in the City’s bicycle and pedestrian network as part of the 2025 Comprehensive Plan. During development of the City’s 2025–2030 Capital Improvement Plan, the project was expanded and reclassified as a full roadway reconstruction project (ST00005) to coordinate with planned water and sewer system improvements by the Silver Lake Water and Sewer District. The expanded project scope includes reconstruction of Silver Crest Drive between 26th Avenue SE and 35th Avenue SE, installation of sidewalks and bicycle lanes, and storm drainage system upgrades.

Project Goals:

The goal of the Silver Crest Drive and 28th Drive SE Improvement Project is to enhance roadway safety, accessibility, and overall transportation infrastructure within the project areas. The project aims to improve pedestrian and bicycle connectivity, upgrade roadway conditions, and enhance stormwater drainage to support a safer and more reliable transportation network. Improvements along Silver Crest Drive include roadway reconstruction, sidewalks, and bicycle lanes between 26th Avenue SE and 35th Avenue SE, while improvements along 28th Drive SE will address the specific roadway and infrastructure needs of that corridor.

Community Outreach:

The City is committed to keeping residents informed about the Silver Crest Drive and 28th Drive SE Improvement Project and providing opportunities for community engagement and feedback.

National Night Out – August 18, 2026

City staff shared project information with residents at National Night Out at Buffalo Park, introducing the project and answering questions.

Community Open House – September 24, 2026

City staff, the Silver Lake Water and Sewer District, and engineering consultant Psomas hosted a community open house at Heatherwood Middle School to present the proposed improvements, share project information, and address questions from residents.

Residents shared feedback and asked questions about driveway access, potential property impacts, mailbox relocation, bike lane design, landscaping preferences, and traffic-calming options. Their input provided valuable insight into neighborhood priorities and concerns as the project moves forward.
