164th St. SE at North Creek Bridge to Close for Two Weekends for Emergency Repairs

The City of Mill Creek is advising residents, commuters, and regional travelers to prepare for significant traffic impacts during two upcoming weekend closures of the 164th Street SE Bridge over North Creek as crews begin emergency restoration work. Information about the bridge condition and repair project was first announced by the City in October following an engineering evaluation that identified one of the bridge's support columns as being in poor condition.

To allow crews to quickly and safely complete repairs, the bridge will be fully closed during the following periods:

  • Friday, November 13, from 9:00 p.m. to Monday, November 16, at 4:00 a.m.
  • Friday, November 20, from 9:00 p.m. to Monday, November 23, at 4:00 a.m.

For those heading east on 164th St. SE the primary detour route will direct traffic:

  • South on North Road
  • East on Filbert Road
  • North on Bothell-Everett Highway

Local access will remain available up to 5th Avenue and North Creek Presbyterian Church on the west side of the closure area.

While temporary traffic adjustments have been in place since October, these full weekend closures are necessary to safely accommodate construction crews and equipment and accelerate restoration efforts. The City continues to work closely with contractors and engineers to minimize disruptions while maintaining public safety.

The City is also coordinating with Snohomish County, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), Community Transit, Everett Public Schools, and local businesses to minimize impacts, coordinate transportation planning, and keep the public informed throughout the repair process.
