Mill Creek Honors Veterans in Annual Veterans Day Ceremony and Parade

Veterans Day Ceremony and Parade 2025

Mill Creek's annual Veterans Day Ceremony & Parade will take place on Tuesday, November 11, honoring all who have served in our United States military.

The day's events will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a Commemorative Ceremony at the Veterans Monument at Library Park (15429 Bothell Everett Hwy). This ceremony includes remarks from Mayor Pro Tem Stephanie Vignal, Senator John Lovick, Representative April Berg, and Hayden Jenkins on behalf of Senator Patty Murray. U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and Parade Grand Marshal, Bruce McCann, will also speak, alongside Chaplain Nick Lewis. The Mill Creek Chorale and South Snohomish County Honor Guard will perform, culminating in the raising of the colors accompanied by bugler George Moffat.

At 11:00 a.m., the parade will begin, moving south through Mill Creek Town Center from LA Fitness (15024 Main St.) to City Hall North (15720 Main St). The parade will feature veterans and their families, the Overlake Composite Civil Air Patrol Squadron, and performances by the Glacier Peak High School Grizzly Band, the Jackson High School Cheer Team, the Snohomish High School Panther Band, the Keith Highlanders Pipe Band, as well as vintage and military vehicles, and many local businesses and community organizations.

Emcee Stitch Mitchell of KXA/KRKO Radio, stationed near Seattle Gymnastics Academy on Main Street & 153rd, will celebrate parade participants, including our 2025 Parade Grand Marshal Bruce McCann, who will ride with his family in a 1997 Lincoln Limousine, driven by Douglas Janes.

Dick's Drive-In will offer a free meal to all Veterans including any of the burger options (Cheeseburger, Deluxe, Special, or Hamburger), a bag of chips, and a soda at their food truck located near the old Starbucks building on Main Street from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Simply show Military ID, Veterans ID, ROTC ID, VA ID, ID for any Veterans organization, or present a photo of themselves in uniform. The public will have the opportunity to purchase burgers and Dick's merchandise.

One of our favorite annual traditions is the Heroes' Café Giving Tree and Sock Drive! This initiative provides the community with a chance to support veterans this holiday season. Look for the tree and Heroes’ Café banner in the parade. To pick up your donation tag, visit the State Farm emcee tent at the parade or stop by Mill Creek City Hall North (15720 Main St.) through December 15.

We want to extend our gratitude to everyone who makes these events possible, including our generous sponsors: JL Remodeling, Mill Creek Sports, Community Transit, and State Farm Agent Chris Jones. Thank you to Nothing Bundt Cakes, Starbucks, and Dick's Drive-In for providing delicious coffee and refreshments for veterans and volunteers. Special thanks to our many volunteers, including the Mill Creek Youth Advisory Board, Kiwanis of Mill Creek, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. We genuinely appreciate our Veterans Day Committee volunteers, including Larry Beach, Kittie LaFazia, Gary Walderman, Brad Nelson, Brad Asche, Argon Karameti, and Barb Heidel, for their selfless dedication.

Additionally, we want to thank Linda Menard, Norm Holl, and LA Fitness for generously allowing the City to use their parking lot for parade staging. Finally, we express our gratitude to our City Council and staff, as well as to the Mill Creek Police Department, the Citizens Patrol, and the Public Works crew, for their support.
