City Seeks Volunteers to Fill Art and Beautification Board Vacancies

The City of Mill Creek is seeking two volunteers with a background or interest in landscaping or art to fill two vacancies on the Arts and Beautification Board. The terms of both positions lasts three years, expiring on Oct. 31, 2020.

The Art and Beautification Board is an advisory board that focuses on matters of designing landscaping, acquiring artwork and proposing projects for all City owned property. Board members utilize the Municipal Art Fund to enhance the aesthetics and beauty within common and business areas of the City.

“I have had the pleasure of being a part of this board for a number of years and have seen numerous ideas become new enhancements to the community we live in,” said Art and Beautification Board Chair Matt Buchanan. “We are looking for new members to join this very active and effective group of City-minded people to help us continue our work. I promise this will be time well spent and we have a great time along the way. Come join us and have a voice in the future of Mill Creek’s ‘beautiful’ future.”

Board members should have an interest or professional experience in landscaping or art, and must be residents or own/operate a business in the City. Art and Beautification Board meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall South, 15728 Main St.

Those interested in serving on the board may submit their name for consideration by close of business on Friday, April 27.
